17th-Century English Carved Oak Coffer (circa 1650–1680, Charles II period), featuring deep relief arcaded carvings, rich dark coloration, and exceptional historic patina. Constructed from heavy solid oak, the hinged plank lid opens to a spacious interior storage compartment. The three-panel front displays carved arcaded (arched) panels enclosing detailed floral and foliage motifs. Dividing the panels are vertical muntins hand-carved with stylized palm frond and leaf patterns.
