Buying & Valuing Antique Silver
We buy and value antique silver, from valuing heirlooms to single spoons, with the same patience, transparency and expertise.

Our approach
Friendly, honest, based on fair market value.
We regularly buy antique silver and value certain silverware from people who no longer want inherited pieces or who simply wish to turn unloved silver into cash. Our approach is friendly, honest, and based on real market value. We take the time to explain our valuations, discuss the specifics of the maker and how that may impact the value, and very often, we do our best to persuade you to take the piece home to use and enjoy.
Whilst we know we offer fair market prices, we always encourage you to compare valuations before selling. We want you to feel confident, informed, and comfortable every step of the way.

Silver valuations
Unfashionable or broken pieces still maintain their silver value. However, the fame of the maker and other unique aspects of a piece can significantly alter its value.
Ron will take the time to explain each valuation clearly, ensuring you understand what you have and why it matters.
- Quality, quantity and condition assessed in person
- Maker, hallmark and provenance considered
- Honest valuation, no obligation to sell
What Silver DO we Buy?
We purchase just about all silver, ranging from spoons and forks, old tea pots or candlesticks, you name it. The important point is that if it is silver, it’s worth money, whether it is broken or dented.
And, unsurprisingly, the value does not alter if it is polished or unpolished. We also buy foreign silver, be that Asian, American or European. In fact, some foreign silver can be worth more than British silver.
We've listed a few common pieces people bring to us, but if it's silver, we want to see it.

Silver consignments
we sell on your behalf.
For unique higher-value silverware, we may recommend consigning rather than an outright purchase. It takes longer, but it returns more.
Direct sale
We value and purchase your piece outright. You receive payment immediately, at a fair and transparent market rate agreed before we proceed.
Immediate settlementSale or return
We sell the piece on your behalf at full retail price, allowing time to achieve the best possible return. Generally delivers more for all concerned.
Higher returnAll costs, expectations and the revenue share are agreed clearly in advance. A transparent, professional process with no surprises.
We handle display, photography, all buyer enquiries and worldwide dispatch entirely on your behalf.
If required, we arrange small repairs to your silver item before listing, in order to achieve the best return.

Frequently asked Questions
Should I clean and polish my silver before bringing it in?
No need. Polished or unpolished, the value is the same. In fact, over-polishing can wear hallmarks down, so it’s often better to leave it as it is.
Do you buy damaged or broken silver?
Yes. A dented tea pot or a single fork from a broken set is still worth money. Bring it in.
Do you only buy British silver?
No. We buy Asian, American and European silver as well. Some foreign pieces are worth more than their British equivalents.
What’s the difference between a sale and a consignment?
An outright sale settles immediately at our valuation. A consignment lets us sell the piece on your behalf at retail, with a pre-agreed revenue share. Consignment usually returns more, but takes longer.
Will I get a written valuation?
Yes. Whatever you choose to do next, you leave with a clear written valuation that explains how we arrived at the figure.
Can you handle full estate or probate valuations?
We do, regularly. We’re happy to attend in person, work with executors and solicitors, and provide written valuations suitable for probate purposes.
