Mid-Century Copper Watering Can
Mid-Century Copper Watering Can, c.1950–1965. A particularly stylish mid-century modern watering can, with a tall tapering copper body, exceptionally long slender brass spout and angular handle incorporating a dark ebonised wood grip. The sharply sloping mouth and exaggerated proportions give it a strongly sculptural quality characteristic of Continental European design of the 1950s and early 1960s. The combination of copper, brass and dark wood was particularly popular among Austrian and Scandinavian modernist metalworkers during this period.
