Set of four 19th century French parrot lithographs

A highly decorative set of four mid-19th-century French ornithological lithographs of parrots. Each plate depicts an individual parrot in exceptionally vivid colour against a delicately drawn botanical setting. The plates were produced by J. Daverne, with later plates characteristically leaving the branches largely uncoloured, allowing the brilliant plumage to dominate the composition.
