They were really helpful I bought this lovely console table after a video call. They answered all my queries and even arranged delivery to Kent and the table arrived safely a few days later exactly as i hoped it would be. Would definitely buy from them again!!

A Knifeless Canteen – Ron To The Rescue!

I inherited a "Solid Silver" cutlery canteen which, to my horror, I discovered to be knifeless!

I learnt the Kings pattern spoons and forks were English made in 1839 & 1856, the problem was not uncommon and it rested with the “blades” of the knives.

By chance I had stumbled upon Beau Nash whilst touring Bath. The establishment is indeed a most impressive silver shop.

Upon my return to Australia, I contacted Ron and within a month he had completed the canteen by the provision to me of 12 x 12 Kings silver handed knives, which he personally carried to Australia.

Ron is a silver cutlery authority who delights in sharing his expertise. He embraced the brief, researched, explained, presented options, offered recommendations, was diligent plus professional throughout and would be most welcome at my next barbecue, with complete canteen in action and cold beer in hand.

What a wonderful shop! A few months ago Ron started by first giving me a video tour of his enormous shop showing me every glittering wall and shiny surface scattered with sparkling silver. Then he encouraged me pick out individual items we spotted on the video; and finally he helped me take my first tentative steps towards forming my own Georgian silver collection. Ron was so helpful and so patient, and his expertise made shopping on-line and over the phone (via email and WhatsAp) a unique and convenient experience. Beau Nash's incredibly diverse and well-priced stock ensures that, from now, on I shall continue to do all my silver shopping at Beau Nash.

Beau Nash is my favourite shop in Bath. Cynthia and Ron are very welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and stories behind the beautiful furniture and antiques they sell. For me there is something wonderful about lovely old pieces that still work practically in modern life and I'm thrilled with my gorgeous Regency music stand. Thank you both.

Lucky us to find such a lovely antique shop rather than the usual junk-type antiques so common these days. Beau Nash is special - high quality antiques and lovely Cynthia who is very knowledgeable and kind enough to let us take the George III mirror we bought home to London to try. If we didn't think it fitted, a colleague (who visits London regularly) could come and collect. Needless to say, it is perfect - well worth the wait and travelling 200 miles! We will definitely come to Beau Nash again.

On a walking tour in Bath, I spotted a beautiful cobalt blue pottery urn in a shop window. The urn burned in my brain for a few days until I convinced my husband that we must have it! Alas, we could not remember exactly where we had seen the urn and did not spot it as we retraced our steps.

After enquiring in a few shops with no success, we stopped in a lovely antique store not far from the Royal Crescent. The friendly proprietor, Cynthia, greeted us and I told her of our search for the blue urn. “Oh,”Cynthia said, “you must mean this one,” glancing over her shoulder. And there it was!

We completed the transaction quickly, exchanged shipping information, and 5 days later the urn arrived beautifully (and safely) packaged on our front doorstep in Virginia!

Both shops have such fine quality silver and antiques. I was smitten by an art nouveau piece that was truly one of a kind. Cynthia was enthusiastic, informative and knowledgeable without any pressure to buy. She made sure that my purchase was shipped safely to my home in suburban Chicago. This is definitely a “must stop” on my annual trips to the UK. See you next year.

Beau Nash never fails to have something to entice one in, and we absolutely love the purchases we have made there. Cynthia is incredibly helpful and the shop itself is a joy to be in (don't miss the original Georgian kitchen range downstairs!). A great asset to Bath.

We found this gem of a shop as we were strolling around Bath. Both the Antique and the Silver shops were full of amazing items and the customer service was first class. We ended buying a very nice silver beer mug. We greatly appreciated all the information about silver and understanding the history of these items.

Update: 30 April 2024
I thought I would provide an update to my previous review as we are loving silver journey. We have now purchased several items from Beau Nash. You can be assured that when you buy from here, you are buying quality silver.

We use our silverware most days (mugs, goblets and cutlery). I can tell you that once you start drinking beer from a silver mug, it becomes hard to drink from anything but silver! Not only are you holding history in your hands, it keeps the liquid at a perfect temperature and seems to enhance the taste. I am actually tempted to take my mug with me to my local pub! Attached is a picture of my current favourite mug. It is a perfect size and fits well in my hand.

We also find that using cutlery on a daily basis requires barely any additional maintenance than stainless steel. We are old school and prefer to wash our dishes by hand in warm water.

If we don't use a mug or goblet for several months, a quick clean with Brasso has it once again looking amazing. I find it quite relaxing to polish the odd item as you are rewarded with a sparkling antique item time and time again.

Cynthia always give me the most amazing personalised service. She listens to what I need and somehow manages to find me exactly what I was looking for with her knowledge and taste ! She is also honest about what doesn’t work in the space too which is a welcome change, so I trust her when choosing my pieces.

I have bought a few pieces from Beau Nash for furnishing my Bath apartment. These include a perfectly proportioned Overmantel mirror that was gilded to my exact requirements. I also bought a stunning chinoiserie glass cabinet that creates a real wow factor in my Living Room. Cynthia sourced me some near matching original Georgian bedside tables and they are exquisite!! They are the perfect colouring and finishing with the help of her fabulous restorer. I couldn’t be happier with them!

The only problem I have now is stopping myself filling my entire home with her beautiful wares! You must visit the shop when you are in Bath!
