Louis XVI Style Triptych Mirror
French Louis XVI Revival Triptych Dressing Mirror by Miroir Brot. A striking French full-length triptych dressing mirror by Maison Miroir Brot, dating to the early 20th century. The central mirror plate is enclosed within an elegant giltwood and gesso frame, surmounted by a finely modelled ribbon-and-bow crest and decorated with classical rosettes, beaded mouldings and foliate detailing. The two brass-bound side mirrors open and adjust to provide a panoramic dressing view, before folding neatly across the central plate. The reverse is finished with patterned textile panels, while the original brass “Miroir Brot” maker’s plaque remains prominently displayed. Miroir Brot was established in Paris in 1826 and credits François Brot with inventing its celebrated triptych mirror design in 1875.
